Springs Windows Fashions Develops Lean Program

Springs Windows Fashions recently changed the way it manufactures custom windows, thanks in part to Nevada Industry Excellence’s instructor-led 5S Lean Manufacturing workshops.  Since February 2001, Nevada Industry Excellence agents conducted seven, eight-hour Lean Manufacturing workshops for Springs’ 130 employees.

Also, Nevada Industry Excellence’s 5S training showed Springs’ administrators and employees how to better organize and standardize their work stations.  Work in progress was reduced by as much as 90% and the cycle time was cut by 92%.  Work went from 70 hours from beginning to end to only 2 hours!
