Axis International Expands to International Markets with ExporTech

Axis International manufacturers CNC Plasma Cutting Systems currently has 4 employees.  Axis CNC Plasma Cutting Machines utilize precision linear rails to achieve a superior level of accuracy, smooth fluid motion and high duty cycle.  In addition to producing the table structure, rails and mount & motor systems, Axis International incorporates a full line of Hypertherm Mechanized Plasma Cutting Power Supplies, CNC Controllers, Torch Height Controls & Software.  Axis offers complete plasma cutting systems for small metal fabrication job shops up to large production systems used in full size commercial shipyards.

Axis International's product popularity generated considerable interest from foreign countries, with inquiries and quote requests.  They did not have the expertise needed to properly and efficiently handle the requirements for international sales in order to satisfy foreign customer demand.  In addition to international quoting and order processing, export financing was also a very important need.  Nevada Industry Excellence (NVIE) staff recommended participation in ExporTech to resolve the issues and assist Axis in growing their sales.

NVIE aligned Axis with various exporting agencies and experts, who were instrumental in assisting in pinpointing a target country, finding a distributor, and knowledge of how to use The Free Trade Agreements.  NVIE also provided University of Nevada, Las Vegas interns for target country research and coaches for support and guidance.  Axis identified a target country and was able to make significant contacts with key exporting banks.

Through NVIE’s ExporTech program, Axis is now poised for profitable growth and has successfully roadmapped a plan to expedite sales to the global market.  Axis is currently engaging a foreign customer with a $120,000.00 order, and this customer is now also buying parts & accessories for their older machines averaging $2,500 per month.  Over the past 3 months Axis has quoted approx $1.5 million in machines to Canadian companies.  Axis is now providing quotes to potential foreign buyers and facilitating the financial aspects of exporting.
